Fresh Flowers that thrive in Florida Winter
Hi Gardening and Wellness Friends ๐๐ผ
Flowers are one of my favorite parts of gardening. Using them to attract all of the beneficial insects, bees and butterflies is such a joy for me. In the spring, summer and fall we have a plethora of flowers to choose from, but in the winter, our selection is slim.
While the rest of the country is settling in for frigid temps, in Florida we're gearing up for the cool weather crops, the herbs and the flowers. We are blessed to be able to grow in the winter.
Some of my favorite flowers to grow are pansies, petunias, violas, alyssum and snapdragons. Specialty flowers I enjoy growing are ranunculus and lisianthus.
For our simple winter gardens the easiest, low maintenance flowers to grow are pansies, petunias and violas. Sunshine, consistent watering, a little food and protection from frost is all they need to thrive.
Have you grown any of these flowers over winter?
Until next timeโฆ..
๐ฟTo our health and the health of our gardens๐ฟ
