Fall 2026 Garden Cohort is Open
Hi Gardening and Wellness Friends 👋🏼
I’m so excited to start the Fall cohort. I’ve enjoyed offering these cohorts each season for the last year to mentor Florida gardeners. I’ve had complete beginners to seasoned gardeners and everything in between. I’ve ensured every skill level of gardener has resources and learns something new each season.
With each of the seasons comes a different and new challenge. Fall brings excessive pest pressure on baby seedlings. They’re so tasty and tender the pests want to annihilate them. So, we take extra precautions to protect them. Winter brings the occasional freeze, and we have to prepare our gardens to survive the cold blast. Spring is a toss up, will we get a late frost to deal with or will the pests begin sooner than we anticipate. And summer…..with the heat, excessive rain and pest pressure, we’re lucky if we can keep anything alive. I focus on the hardy plants that time of year. Learning how to manage each of these seasons is what we learn about in the cohorts.
By far my most favorite season to mentor is Fall. It’s truly a magical time for Florida. Unlike the rest of the country where spring is the main season, we here in Florida are coming into our main growing season. We get the best of both seasons this time of year. We can still plant the warm veg like tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, beans AND we can plant the cool weather veg like carrots, radish, broccoli. We may have to take a few extra precautions this time of year with the pests, but man is it worth it to harvest a fresh, slightly sweet, watery cucumber right next to a sharp, peppery, crunchy radish. It’s truly the best season to plant in my opinion. This is also the time where we plant many of the veg that we’ll eat for our Thanksgiving dinners.
So, come along and join me in the Fall Cohort. We’ll garden together and start getting our Thanksgiving menu planned out. Registration ends on Monday and we’ll begin creating our fall gardens. Click here to register.
Until next time…..
🌿To our health and the health of our gardens🌿
